Some people find that milk protein is the key to lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, however, it does not work for everyone. New research has indicated that simply incorporating garlic into your regular daily diet may be enough to reduce your cholesterol and blood pressure.

Garlic is wonderful for the cardiovascular system.  It is a natural remedy for many different things and can fight infection!  Did you know that some women choose to insert a toe of garlic into their vaginal area as a means of treating a yeast infection?

Garlic is a wonderful addition to food and has more benefits than just adding flavor

Eating just one single small clove of garlic a day can effectively treat hypertension.  One study shows that consuming garlic on a regular basis can help to decrease systolic blood pressure by as much as 20 mm Hg and 30 mm Hg, and diastolic blood pressure by as much as 10 mm Hg to 20 mm Hg in study participants.

Over a 12-week study, participants who consumed just a single clove of garlic as part of their daily diet showed significant reductions in their systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure by the end of the study.

Other studies focused on participants taking garlic supplements rather than adding garlic to their daily diet.  Some people don’t care for the taste of garlic.  My father is a good example of this.  He suffers from high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels and does not eat even a lick of garlic throughout the year.  He hates garlic.  Studies prove that a significant reduction in both systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure are apparent even when garlic is taken in powder or supplement form.

The reason garlic works so well is still somewhat of a mystery, however, it is currently believed that garlic intake reduces spasms which occur in the small arteries as well as modifies the pulse rate and heart rhythm.  Garlic can help you with your digestive track as well as help relieve gas.  Other benefits of garlic include a reduction in numbness, dizziness and shortness of breath.  Garlic is an effective herbal remedy used to treat many different health ailments.  It’s been used for centuries and the research is undeniable.

The best form of garlic to incorporate into your daily diet is to eat it in raw or crushed form.  The fresher, the better.  You can also take it in supplement or capsule form.  There are some manufacturers who have been able to create a garlic supplement without the pungent aftertaste.  Make sure you speak to your doctor regarding your intentions of taking garlic supplements or adding garlic to your diet before you do so.  It’s always best to speak to your healthcare provider regarding changes you plan to make.
